Canton of Basingestoches participation in the Bar Harbor Parade: July 4, 2016

Basingestoches-Jan2014The following is Information regarding the Society for Creative Anachronism‘s Canton of Basingestoches (incipient) participation in the Bar Harbor, Maine 4th of July parade.

  • The parade will be held on Monday July 4, 2016.
  • Be prepared to be in line by 9 AM.
  • The Bar Harbor parade starts at 10 AM.

Basingestoches will have a parade float. There will be a medieval demo on the baseball field after the parade. Look for the medieval tent and fighting list as the rally point.

Participants in the parade will meet on Rt. 3 in the dirt parking lot of the ballfield next to the Cromwell Harbor Motel. We will set up our Demo tent and then our parade float. We will leave from that spot for the parade line up and return to that spot for the Demo. Please bring display items we can set out after the parade finishes.

You can visit the Bar Harbor & Acadia National Park July 4th Event website to read the public posting about the parade and other events in Bar Harbor that day. According to this website the parade will wind through downtown Bar Harbor from Main Street to Cottage Street to Eden Street to Mt. Desert Street to Ledgelawn Avenue. The theme of the parade this year is “Acadia’s Centennial.” You can also download a map of the parade route as well.
